March 22, 2010
We are pleased to provide you with a copy of our report for the 2009 calendar year.
2009 was a year of continued stability in the auto insurance market but with some signs of negative pressures in the house insurance market. Auto rates went down for a fifth consecutive year, bringing the average rate in NB to $751.
Some of the issues in 2009 involved an apparent upward trend in house insurance premiums, the use of credit scoring by some insurance companies and the continuing challenge of the minor injury cap legislation.
